In the mid-1980s there was a lot of fuss in parliament and the media about so-called “video nasties” and young people having unrestricted access to all sorts of gory and violent videos.

Film critic Kim Newman, Stefan Jaworzyn (editor of Shock Xpress) and I took part in a TV programme on the subject. We had to sit around pretending to watch Combat Shock and making sage comments. This is just a 90 second snippet.
